Kid's Club

Why does Dr. Pollei have a Kids Club?

When most people think of orthodontics, they think of teenagers, and the fact is, most orthodontic treatment begins between the ages of 11 and 14. By age 7, though, most children have a mix of adult and baby teeth. Dr. Pollei can evaluate potential problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth while some baby teeth are still present. That is important because some orthodontic problems are easier to correct if they are found early. For these reasons, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your child receive an orthodontic check-up around age 7. The majority of our young patients will not require immediate treatment and Dr. Pollei will take a "wait-and-see" approach in which he will regularly check on the development of the permanent teeth, jaws, and face.

Dr. Pollei's Kids Club is designed for these young patients to be seen every 6 months for observation appointments at Faulkner & Pollei Orthodontics. The Kids Club will assist your child in becoming more comfortable and knowledgeable about orthodontic treatment when in fact they begin. We want all of our patients to feel like they are a part of our office, even if they are not yet in treatment.

How much does the Kids Club cost?

At your child's routine appointments, his or her growth and development will be monitored until the optimal time in growth has been reached to begin orthodontic treatment. Radiographs are included in your 6 month observation appointments (if needed) and there is NO FEE associated with the Kids Club program!

How does the Kids Club work?

It's so easy! If Dr. Pollei does not recommend immediate treatment during your child's initial examination, he or she will receive super cool Kids Club t-shirt. At each 6 month observation exam, if your child wears his or her Kids Club t-shirt, he or she will be entered in our semi-annual reward drawing. Your child could win an iPod, Nashville Shores passes, or other great prizes! So wear your t-shirt around town…and especially don't forget to wear it to every appointment. It's worth it!

How does my child sign up?

Bring your child in for an initial evaluation at your convenience or bring them with a family member in treatment; either way we're happy to help him or her join the club! The initial appointment takes about a half hour in which we will discuss potential problems to watch, answer any questions you may have, and possibly take an x-ray (if indicated). Just call us to set up your child's initial exam. We look forward to having your child be a part of the club!
